A LBD Fit for the Social Event of the Season

60 years is a long time to be married.  I can only hope that my beau and I happen to be so lucky once we tie the knot.  Recently, the Gill family, among many others, got all gussied up for my grandparents' 60th anniversary party.  It was an evening filled with lots of laughter, flowing champagne, fabulous desserts, and jitterbugging feet.  My dad gave a toast or rather a roast of my grandparents, which had the guests rolling with laughter.  There was a 20 piece band playing oldies but goodies and a mix of both young and old on the dance floor.  The old put the young to shame with their dance moves and for that I will definitely be taking dance lessons before my wedding.

I couldn't of been happier with the vintage little black dress I wore for the evening.  I found it on a vintage shopping business adventure and I immediately yanked it from the Gilly Lynn vintage pile.  Size 6 and a perfect fit, this dress was destined for a permanent home in my closet.  It has a gorgeous lace back, but the picture I have doesn't seem to do it justice.  In my own style, I prefer simple, sleek, and elegant.  I enjoy a little wow factor, but I never really go over the top.  This dress by Shelli Segal is my new go-to LBD.  Now, if I only had more cocktail events to attend!

  1. You look stunning, what a gorgeous couple! Your LBD is awesome, the cut of the neck line is so flattering on you!

  2. Thank you, thank you! The neckline literally sold me on the dress. I think I'm going to be designing a few of my own with a similar line.

  3. I love the cut of this dress! I agree with less is more in a way where I believe over accessorizing can ruin the finer details of an outfit. Looking good, girl!
